Aug. 1980 to Apr. 1986: Canada Trust, Whitby Branch Manager. As Sr. Loans Officer to Branch Manager I was responsible for all loan operations, branch staffing, day-to-day management of the branch profitability & training. As Branch Manager I successfully ran the Woodside Square, Sheppard Centre and Whitby branches.
Feb. 1977 to Apr. 1980: Avco Finance, Whitby Branch Manager. I went from Account Representative to Assistant Manager to Branch Manager. I was responsible for all day-to-day operations of the branch including lending, collecting, staffing, training, profitability, etc.
Apr. 1972 to Jan. 1977: Lasco Steel Whitby, numerous positions all over the plant. Labourer, pulpit operator, crane operator, maintenance crew.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
Dale Carnegie Course - successfully completed
in Feb. 85. The highlight for me was being picked the impromptu
speaking champion by the class. A Beaver Leader for 3 years at Kingside
Park with a group of just over 20 kids. Baseball Coach for 3 yr.
coaching T-ball and Minor Tyke for Kingside Park.
PROFESSIONAL SOCIETIES:
Aug. 1993 to Present: Long Term Health Care
Committee - volunteer member for Durham Region and Chairman of the
Funding Allocation Committee.
Jun. 1989 to Present: Durham Home Builders Association. By being
a member of this group it helps me to understand new home construction,
renovations, the home warranty program, different ways to market
property, etc. 1994 - Durham Region Real Estate Board - member of
the Board of Director. 1994 - United Way Account Executive.
PERSONAL:
My most enjoyable pastime is reading.
